Software

Quality podcasting software can literally save creators hours of time every week. These are the programs we use to produce edit our own shows, so we can say firsthand that they are so worth it.

Squadcast

Squadcast is a virtual recording studio that records all of your interviews locally. This means that wifi issues and barking dogs won’t necessarily affect the quality of your audio. Plus, the configuration is similar to Zoom’s, so Squadcast is super intuitive to use.

Podpage

Want a beautiful website without the pain of learning WordPress? Say hello to Podpage. With Podpage, all podcasters have to do is plug in their podcast’s info, and they will have a beautiful, easy-to-maintain website in just a few minutes. Check out one of their websites here.

Descript

This software saves our producer hours of work every single week. To use Descript, podcasters upload their raw audio, and it produces a transcript within a few minutes. Then, any edit made to the transcript is reflected directly in the audio. It also has a ton of other cool features like the ability to generate social media-ready audiograms.

Fun Stuff

Ornament that Links to Their Podcast
$7.95

This “On The Air” ornament is more than just a decoration. You can give the shop a show’s Spotify or Apple Podcast link and they will add a code that, when scanned with a smartphone, will directly open the podcast feed.

Pro Tip: If you’re getting your gift on Etsy, it’s best to place the order ASAP. Their independent creators can get overwhelmed with orders during the holiday season, which increases their processing times.

Cover Art Print
Prices Vary

Help your favorite podcaster spruce up their studio space with a large print of their podcast cover art. Target‘s photo printing service has a ton of size options and ships quickly. Printkeg, a print shop based in South Carolina is another great option with reasonable pricing and a fast turnaround time.

On Air Sign
$63.50

A light-up “On Air” sign is another fun way to spruce up an office or studio. There are a ton of options ranging in size, material, and price on Etsy, so you’ll be sure to find something that’s right for you. We love this one because of its mid-range price, and because it can either be hung on the wall or propped up on a desk.
